Our laser detector cards are based on liquid crystal foil changing color due to heat generated by a laser beam. Therefore, these cards can be used with nearly any laser wavelength.
As the cars body is made from aluminum the temperature profile inscribed by a laser beam is quickly deleted avoiding significant blurring, which is found by most detector cards based on this technology. Furthermore, the cards are quite robust when it comes to tolerate moderate amounts of laser power without starting to melt or burn. Also due to the good thermal conductivity resetting the card thermally e.g. by placing it on the optical table is very fast.
As a practical feature the detector cards come with a scale engraved to it, making it easy e.g. to check the beam height of your laser during alignment.
Our detector card comes in two versions: One for the temperature range from 20…25°C, which is more sensitive and suitable for well air-conditioned laboratories and a version working between 24…34°C with less sensitivity but tolerant to higher environmental temperatures and longer periods of detection without thermally resetting the card.
