Beam Profiling Solutions

KLT-UBP2-160 lineup
Lineup of different KLT-UBP2-160 beam profilers

Overview

Our range of beam profilers offer a unique thermal detection scheme, that allows the measurement of any kind of laser beam at any wavelength. Recent improvements in the detector surface technology significantly improve the sensitivity and added a specialized detector surface for the use with CO2 lasers around 10.6µm.

Our detection technology is is unique amongst laser beam profilers and comes with a bunch of advantages in comparison to other beam profilers:

  • high data depth of ca. 14Bit
  • direct measurement of up to approximately 0.5W/cm² (no attenuators)
  • the robust detector surface can withstand up to ~0.5J/cm² with 10ns pulses
  • if you should manage to damage the detector surface, it can be exchanged at a budget as the detector itself will not be harmed

Depending on your needs we offer a range of different detector sizes and resolutions. Besides the standard sizes also large detector surfaces up to 300mm (diagonal)  and higher resolutions are available on request.

The included software is accessible with a standard browser via network connection on any device (smartphone, tablet, PC) and covers your beam profiling needs: e.g. different false color schemes, line-outs, triggering, averaging, beam evaluation (power and size) and saving raw and processed data. In combination with our separately available M²-measurement add-on, a complete fully automated M²-measurement is possible.

Additionally, for the models with a resolution of 320x256pixels and above a 7“ touchscreen with the same user interface is included (for the KLT-UBP2-160 this is optionally available).

Software

A key to the ease of use of our profiler software is the included software. All version incorporate a webserver for accessing the software. The server can be accessed via wireless lan or wired connection. When connected all it needs is a browser to access the user interface. The interface features a broad range of features, that should cover most needs:

  • live image with >25 false color overlays
  • scaling options
  • horizontal and vertical line-outs
  • trigger control
  • beam evaluation (following ISO 11146-1), center of gravity and power estimation
  • averaging, background substraction
  • various image improvement algorithms
  • possibility to save raw data or image as displayed

Furthermore, the software is constantly improved and updates are deployed for free on existing beam profilers (if compatible). Therefore, if you should miss a functionality, please let us know and the chances are good, that your requested functionality will be added by a future update!

Add-ons

We offer a range of custom add-ons to our beam profilers ranging from attenuators and fixed telescopes setups but also an automatic M²-measurement measurement system that is integrated in the beam profilers software.

The M² measurement system includes a motorized stage with a zig-zag beam path and calcium fluoride optics maintaining the broad band capability of the beam profiler. After connecting the M² measurement system to the beam-profilers control unit, it is automatically recognized and new software options for M² measurement are available.

Customization Options

Besides the standard versions of our profiler we could supply you with modified versions adapted for your needs. Possible variations would be e.g. a large detector surface up to approximately 300x200mm² or higher resolutions up to 1280×1024 pixels. Please feel free to contact us if you need anything special.
